POETICALLY SPEAKING CONSERVATIVELY

Pat Buchanan on Ted Cruz:

"If you want to get the nomination, you don't worry about independents in a general election, you excite the base, the Tea Party, the conservatives, the activists, the libertarians, and this is exactly what Cruz is doing. And I think it's a correct strategy as a nomination strategy, it's risky in a general election" he stated.

Words of wisdom from political pundit who is in the know
The priority of a candidate is to secure the base. This he must show
Most of the recent Presidential cycles this has not been the case
They don't come out to vote and if this occurs a win won't take place

Cruz is made of the right stuff. He's a principled Conservative, a Constitutionalist
More importantly he is a first rate candidate. One that is hard to resist
In a debate with Hillary Clinton I would definitely pay out of pocket to see
Because I tell you, my friends, he would thrash Hillary thoroughly

To those of you who say he is too Far Right to win the general election
They said the same of Reagan. With the voters in 1980 he made a connection
Cruz will not have to pander to every group. His message will be clear to all
This country has to be reclaimed from these thugs. We must heed the clarion call
