Obama Oct 2012: “I Refused To Let Detroit Go Bankrupt” – Dec 2013: Detroit Officially Goes Bankrupt

It is official. After more than 50 years of liberal progressive rule by Democrat mayors, the city of Detroit, which used to be the automobile capitol of the world, has gone bankrupt.
But, President Obama said back in October of 2012 that he would not let that happen. Of course with the ever encroaching cancer of liberalism ruling a city (and unfortunately ruling this nation), there's almost nothing that can be done to stop the destruction once you pass a certain point.
What Obama said back in October 2012:
“Just a few years ago, the auto industry wasn’t just struggling – it was flatlining,” Mr. Obama said. “GM and Chrysler were on the verge of collapse. Suppliers and distributors were at risk of going under. More than a million jobs across the country were on the line – and not just auto jobs, but the jobs of teachers, small business owners, and everyone in communities that depend on this great American industry.”
Obama also said he, “refused to throw in the towel and do nothing. We refused to let Detroit go bankrupt. We bet on American workers and American ingenuity, and three years later, that bet is paying off in a big way.”
